Romans 13:7 says, “Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.” This issue of the Baptist Bible Trumpet is being dedicated to my good friend, Dr. Dennis Carter. At the beginning of the month he was diagnosed with cancer. The doctors have told him that the type of cancer he has is very aggressive and from a human point of view the outlook is very very bad. He was told by the doctors to get his house in order. Only God knows how long he has to live, but it would seem that his days are short on the Earth. In honor of Dr. Carter, I’ve decided to reprint some of my favorite articles that Dr. Carter has written in the Trumpet over the years. In addition, I would ask all of our readers to pray for Bro. Carter, his family, and the church that he pastors.

This past week Dr. Carter’s daughter, Melody, whom we requested prayer for a few issues back, went home to be with the Lord. Certainly, the Carters, as well those who are close them, are going through some great trials right now. I know there are great emotional, spiritual and financial needs.
