"Happy Birthday" Baptist Bible Trumpet

This February will mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Baptist Bible Trumpet. I'm sure when the first copy was printed all those years ago no one would have imagined fifty years of victories for the LORD JESUS. Who would have figured on 50 years as a powerful voice for Fundamentalism in South Carolina and around the world? As I wish a happy birthday to the Bible Trumpet, I thought of ten reasons why the Trumpet should continue on as a voice for RIGHTEOUSNESS:

First, because it honors God's Word as eternal, verbally inspired, and preserved as translated in the KJV.

Second, because it promotes fundamental missions and evangelism and exposes the error in both.

Third, because it bears witness against unbelieving ecclesiastical unionism.

Fourth, because it promotes the growth of sound fundamental churches.

Fifth, because it declares that salvation comes through Christ alone by the cleansing blood of Jesus applied to one person at a time.

Sixth, because it bears witness against worldliness, abortion, homosexuality, liberal preachers and churches, ungodly dress, dancing, sending money to modernist schools, and whatever else may be prevailing sins in our times.

Seventh, because the Trumpet treats each preacher and church alike and encourages unity among the brethren.

Eighth, because of its relationship to a no-denominational organization.

Ninth, because now is no time to stop, because we are living in perilous times and many voices are now being silenced because of a refusal to stand for righteousness and seeking the new ways and not the old paths.

Finally, because God buries his workmen, but His work goes on. Dr. Waters made sure all these years that the Trumpet was a work of God. Let's pray for Bro. Mays as the editor of the Trumpet. May God fill him with courage and desire to continue the fight.

Happy birthday, Bible Trumpet,

"Continue on for the glory of God!"
