On July 12, 1997 as the church gave me a Pastor Appreciation Day to celebrate my second anniversary at the church, the Lord led me that day to lead the church into paying off the $11,500 plus dollars we owed on the church building by July 12 of 1998 without selling any hotdogs, oh having bake sales, yard sales, or car washes. After seeking the Lord's guidance, He gave me Philippians 4:19,"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." The context of this verse is a church that had provided support to a missionary(The Apostle Paul) and God's Inspired Word back to these people was that He would supply their need. We put up a board that had a church building on it with block to color every time we got money on it(similar to the thermometer that most use). On Wednesday night, July 8, 1998 at our prayer meeting we still needed $4,000+ to reach the goal that the Lord led us to. I told the church that we needed a miracle to pay that amount. To most churches $4,000 is one pass of the offering plate, but when there is thirty members that number is overwhelming. On Sunday morning July 12, 1998 someone that wished to remain anonymous that is not a member of our church felt led of the Lord to hand me $4,000 to fulfill what the Lord had led us to do one year earlier! MY GOD SHALL SUPPLY. This is indeed a miracle that I wish to be shared with everyone everywhere. Fellow Christians I am not writing this to shame you on selling things to raise money, I am writing this to encourage you to STOP selling things and let God lead you where He wants you to be and trust Him for your finances. Where He guides, He provides. We support missionaries with what we have here, you should top. When you support missions you will be eligible for this statement: Phil 4:19, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
