Good Thoughts
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may be even a worse fate. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." Winston Churchill
As I see it, God raised America up for three basic purposes:
to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to protect the state of Israel, and to
preserve liberty. God blessed and prospered this nation because of our commitment to those three purposes.
It seems to me that the United States is currently in the process of abandoning its commitment to those purposes and as such is in danger of losing its reason for existence. Perhaps this is why America is not found in Bible Prophecy. If America truly abandons the principles that invoked Heaven's assistance, she may soon discover that she has no place remaining at the table of history. She
would not be the first nation to have such a rude awakening. I pray she has
another Great Awakening instead - Compiled.
A Little Bit of Justice for Bill...
On October 1st 2001, former President Bill Clinton was suspended from practicing law before the United States Supreme Court. The Supreme Court decision followed Clinton's debarment by the Arkansas Supreme Court In
April Clinton's law license was revoked for five years and he was required to
pay a $25,000 fine. "While sitting as the highest law officer of the land, Clinton obstructed justice when he gave misleading testimony in the Paula Jones
sexual harassment case. He also lied under oath about his relationship with
White House intern Monica Lewinsky. My lone issue is that it has taken so
long. Ecc 8:11 says,
"Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do
evil "
Only in America
It is a strange turn of events Hillary Clinton will get $8 Million for her forthcoming memoir. Bill will get about $12 Million for his memoir.
That is $20 million dollars from two people who have spent the past eight plus years being unable to recall anything about past events! Incredible!!
Procrastinator's Creed
Let's face it, our Baptist Churches are stocked. with good intentioned, well-meaning members. Yet it seems we've made an art out of putting off getting started on all those ideas and visions God has given us. While thinking about this truth, we stumbled over the procrastinator's creed. See if it fits.
- I believe that if anything is worth doing right now, it would have been done already.
- I will never rush into a job without a long period of adequate consideration.
- I will meet all of my deadlines directly in proportion to the amount of serious injury I could expect to receive from missing them.
- I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or to find excuses.
- I shall never forget that the probability of a miracle, though infinitesimally small, is never exactly zero.
- If at first I don't succeed, there is always next year.
- I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable regardless of the amount of time given.
- I shall always decide not to decide, unless of course I decide to change my mind.
- I obey the law of inverse excuses, which demands that the greater the task to be done, the more insignificant the work that must be done prior to beginning the greater task.
- I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the possibility for new technologies, astounding discoveries, and a reprieve from my obligations.
- I will never put off until tomorrow what I can forget about forever.
and finally,
- I will become a member in good standing of the Official Procrastinator's Society, if they ever get it organized.
