Moslems Kill More Christians

Gunmen have shot dead seven people at a Christian charity in Karachi's central business district, Pakistani police say. They entered the third-floor offices of the Institute for Peace and Justice (EPJ) and shot their victim in the head. Karachi police chief Tariq Jamil said the victims had their hands tied and their mouths had been covered with tape. All those killed were Pakistani Christians.

The gunmen escaped after the attack in the southern port city which has seen mounting attacks this year on Western and Christian targets. The BBC reports that the IPJ has never taken part in religious politics in Pakistan. Run by Christians it has focused on helping the poorest sections of society.

Today, in most Islamic controlled countries, Christians are under some threat and possibly extreme danger. While propaganda rapidly throughout the United States Christians must learn the truth. The church must wake up to the call to support those who are persecuted for their belief in Jesus Christ.

Great Thoughts

I would just as soon listen to a gangster lecture on honesty as watch Hollywood portray the Bible. Vance Havner

Impatience

Impatience is usually a mark of immaturity. At least James felt that way. 'But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing" (James 1:4). How many times have you heard a child say, 'Are we there yet?" at the first stop, sign?

Adults have their share of impatience. Abraham got weary of waiting for the promised son, so he hurried and took Hagar as a second wife, and she bore him Ishmael. Moses got impatient and killed a man. This necessitated 40 years in the pastures of Midian. Years later, Moses became impatient again, smote the rock and lost his trip to the Holy Land. 'Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule,' warns Psalm 32:9, and it is a warning that we need. The mule is stubborn and has a tendency to hold back. The horse is impulsive and wants to push ahead. Personality differences may enter in here, but basically we all have the same problem - it is difficult to wait on God. Part of the problem is that we are prone to walk by sight and not by faith. God assures us in His Word that He is busy on our behalf, but we still want to see something happen. At the Exodus, the Israelites were sure that God had deserted them and destruction was on its way. Listen to that wind! See how dark it is! And yet God was working for His people in the wind and in the darkness. "All these things are against me," cried Jacob (Gen. 242:36). When in reality, all things were working for him.

Possible War - Support of Israel - Time to Vote

On Wednesday morning, Oct. 16, President Bush signed the resolution, passed by Congress a week earlier, authorizing him to use force against Saddam Hussein. Hours later, Mr. Bush met with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, later telling the press that "If Iraq attacks tomorrow, I would assume the prime minister would respond. He's got a desire to defend himself. " The president also told Mr. Sharon that the United States would take action against Hezbollah if the Lebanese militant group attacked Israel. Thank the Lord for the support the United States is giving to Israel in the face of a possible war with Iraq. God said of the nation of Israel in Genesis 12:3, "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."

As this Trumpet goes to press and we near the first week of November and mid-term elections, be sure to remember who supports Israel and our military and who supports sodomites and abortion. Then be sure to vote for the former and against the latter. If you don't vote be sure to never complain about anything that happens in America.
