Monday School

As you read this article our kids have been back in school for a couple of months. During these months we parents spend what seems like a small fortune on school clothing, school supplies, school fees, etc. It seems that we spend more each year. But it is for our kids and that means any sacrifice is worth it. What truly amazes me is that many Christian parents, who would never even consider the option of allowing their child to attend a liberal church or a liberal Sunday School for even an hour or two a week, will not give a second thought to allowing their child to be a part of something that is far more wicked for thirty-five to forty hours a week. Of course I'm speaking of the local "public", or government school. This educational system exalts secular humanism, (the belief in no absolutes and that morality is relative to the individual), evolution, situational ethics, and of course the legitimizing of alternative (sodomite) lifestyles. We all know that that this system is anti-Christian. Yet, some Christian parents, including pastors and deacons, defend their option to enroll their child in the godless public school system.

Wake up, parents! Monday school is just as important as Sunday School. In fact, it may be much more important because of the amount of time being spent. Parents, quit finding excuses to keep your child in the public school! Finances are not a valid excuse. Personally, I am so convicted regarding the importance of education that I would work a second or third extra job if it were necessary, to provide a good Christian education for my children.

Allow me to give you three scriptural reasons to avoid the public school and to choose Christian education for your child:

1. The Teacher and the Textbooks. How could you leave your children in an educational system whose faculty and curriculum is against the bible? Proverbs 19:27 says, "Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the word of knowledge"

2. The Other Students. How can you put your kids in an educational system in which the peers have an ungodly influence on your child? By the way, this may be true in many so called "Christian schools." I Corinthians 15:33 says, "Be not de-ceived, evil communication corrupt good manners."

3. 7he Philosophy. The church is adopting the philosophy of the world. Why? Those running our churches were indoctrinated in the world's philosophy. Colossians 2:8 says, "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."

Sure there may be some Christians in the public school system. There are Christians in jail too. That is no reason to put your child in a system that denies God, hates God's word and rejects prayer. Parents wake up!
