FOLLOWPsalm 37:4By: Mrs. Linda Carter Daughter of Dr. John Waters My Dad said to me just the other day, “I’m lookin’ to you to be a leader!” My mind went back to the day when I accepted Jesus as my own personal Saviour more than 46 years ago in March of 1951. I was a second-grader and I suppose nobody thought to say to me, “Now that you’re born again, you need to follow Jesus.” My Dad, my brothers, my brother-in-law, my husband. . . all are God-fearing preachers of the Gospel. After I had been saved quite a while, God in His infinite mercy showed me from His Word how to follow Jesus. . . . it is found in Psalm 37:1 “FRET NOT THYSELF because of evil doers.” :3 “TRUST IN THE LORD, AND DO GOOD. . .” :4 “DELIGHT THYSELF ALSO IN THE LORD. . .” :5 “COMMIT THY WAY UNTO THE LORD; TRUST ALSO IN HIM. .” :7 “REST IN THE LORD AND WAIT PATIENTLY FOR HIM. . .” Now every decision, every command I get as a born-again Christian, I get from God’s Word. . . I can trust and He will not mislead me.
In the words of E.W. BLANDLY’S invitational hymn:
