THE CHURCH ON THE RIGHT COURSE

ACTS 20:24

The church getting on course, staying on course, and finishing the course. How will you finish the course? Paul’s example to the church, the Pastor, and the lay person.

I. PAUL’S PERSON (Acts 20:19)

Consider others better than yourself.

A. Humility - Of mind.
B. Compassion - Tears for the congregation and the lost.
C. Temptation - Trials

II. PAUL’S PREACHING (Acts 20:20)

Repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus. A change of heart, mind, and direction. Paul preached the gospel of grace; all the counsel of God. If we are going to finish well, we need to preach well.

III. PAUL’S PERSEVERANCE (Acts 20:23)

IV. PAUL’S PURPOSE (Acts 20:28)

A. To warn - take heed to lead and feed the flock.
B. Wolves - the enemy (vs 29)
C. To build - edify (vs 32)

V. PAUL’S PROVISION (Acts 20:33-35)

Paul knew the blessings of God. (Phil 4:19). Paul said, “you’ve taken care of me and He will reward you.”

VI. PAUL’S PRAYER (Acts 20:36)

He prayed with them all.

II Timothy 4:6 - I’m ready
II Timothy 4:7 - I have fought
II Timothy 4:7 - I have kept
II Timothy 4:7 - I have finished.

There is a reward!!!
