Known only to God

In Arlington Virginia on top of a hill
Lie the unknown soldiers, cold and still.
In battle the ultimate sacrifice was made;
Forever there remembered as sons of the brave.

Millions pass by to view their tomb,
Forever enshrined in this hallowed room.
Beside the Potomac, “neath this sacred sod”
Lie the unknown soldiers, known only to God.

I thought, there are other humans not known on this earth,
The innocent babies who died before birth-
Known only to God, known only to God-
Millions of babies known only to God.

No one ever cries or visits their grave,
As silently they die wave after wave.
No changing of the guard to honor their tomb,
No pinks and blues of their nursery room.

Hushed in their tiny cooing voice,
All in the name of a woman’s choice.
Everyday they pass under the shepherd’s rod,
All those precious babies known only to God.

Written by Brother Willard Thomas.

Editor’s note; Evangelist Jimmie Clark has had this poem published professionally in a beautiful poster layout with a picture of the Arlington Cemetery in the background. This would make a wonderful gift on a special occasion at your church. You can get those by contacting Bro. Clark at 336-255-0285 / 336-746-6377.

Baptist Bible Trumpet On-line Changes

Heretofore the on-line version of the Trumpet has been freely available and it has become a very popular Internet site. We are very glad to have picked up many new readers through this ministry, but we have started to lose subscriptions to the printed version of the Trumpet as people have found they can get the same content for free on-line. We cannot afford to do this and continue publication. The subscription fees we collect do not currently cover the cost of publication, let alone allow for planned expansion of the paper. For this reason we have forced to publish two separate version of the Trumpet On-Line.

The version you are currently reading will continue to be free. It is however a limited version. The announcements and brief news articles and one or two feature articles will appear in this version.

The second version will contain all of the articles that appear in the printed version. The full version of Trumpet On-line will be available through an annual subscription fee of only $7.00

We have set up a convenient subscription form here on the new web site ( The new site was donated - $0 - not paid for with subscription fees. )

Good Thoughts

Age does not depend upon years, but upon temperament and health. Some men are born old and some never grow old.

I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who overcomes his enemies; for the hardest victory is victory over self. --Aristotle

When you boil it all down, leaders do just two things: they create conflict and they resolve conflict.

Nothing can be more useful to you than a determination not to be hurried.

I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

"It is when the church finds substitutes for the work of the Holy Spirit that she is ineffective and defeated"

"Faith honors God by its trust; God honors faith with His blessings."

"All sin works toward decline, insipidity, impotence, and night."
